An SCS sketch for mother and child

Hello!  I am posting my KLM card a day early this week!  I used a new stamp set from there called Mother Joy.

I LOVE the DTGD sketches, they are always so fresh, and so I used the one for today, DTGD10StamperSharon, on this card.  I just needed to change the front mini panel to an oval because the rectangle was a bit too big looking over the image.

The DTGD challenges are happening at SCS this week, and the challenge threads are only viewable to Fan Club Members.

For the border on the left side, I used my two corner rounders alternating the small and large one.  I took the snap-on corner base off the bottom of the punches and used them along the edge.

• INK: Brilliance black, Crumb cake, Soft suede, Tombow markers 312, 850, 772, SU markers crumb cake and soft suede
• ACCENTS/TOOLS: Waterbrush, Spellbinders ovals, sponge, sewing machine, pearls, CDS powder puff sheer ribbon, SU designer buttons neutrals, glue dots, foam pop dots
• COLORING: watercoloring with Tombow and SU markers on watercolor paper and a waterbrush

Sweet birthday girl clown

Isn't she precious!?  She comes in a clear stamp set by KLM.  If that set isn't up for sale yet, keep trying back, as they are working on getting up.

I watercolored the image using my tombows and a waterbrush.  The image is printed on 90 lb. Canson watercolor paper using a laser printer.

I actually made the card base 1/4" less wide than normal so that I could have the border punch sticking out off to the left.

In order to make the layers of the peach taffy paper around the diecuts, I actually trimmed them free hand using snips.  I love the spellbinders, but sometimes, I don't like the thickness of the layers you get using them... I like thinner borders, so I usually end up cutting A LOT with snips around them.

Beachy globe and a wooden cross

Good evening!  I am finally getting my KLM post done this week!  Normally I do that on Mondays, but with the holiday and the AC broken over the weekend, it set me behind on everything.

I have a digi image from KLM and a clear stamp image to show you today.

The first one is the kLM Beach globe digital set.  Isn't this cute!?  The sentiment came from a CDS stamp set called Charlie summer fun.

I first printed the image on Canson 90 lb. watercolor paper and hand cut out the shape around it.

Watercolored with waterbrush and Tombow markers, added a touch of clear spica pen on the sand, and free handed the stripes on the globe base.

This next one is from a clear stamp set by KLM, Prayers 1.  The crosses in this set are beautiful and the set comes with several lovely sentiments.

I first printed the image on Canson 90 lb. watercolor paper and die cut.

Watercolored with waterbrush and Tombow markers, and sponged around in saffron and then sponged edges with cocoa ink.

I colored the cross part to mimic wood.  First, I added the lightest brown marker color in wavy srtipes along the cross leaving some areas white. Then I added thinner wavy lines of the middle brown color following the wavy pattern of the lightest color. Added just a touch of the darkest brown in a few spots and then blended all of it together with the waterbrush.  I had to wait for that to completely dry and then I drew the wavy woodgrain stripes with the fine tip of the tombow marker, and did NOT blend that in.

• INK: so saffron & close to cocoa for sponging, Tombow markers 942, 947, 899, 991, 946, 098, 676
  
• ACCENTS/TOOLS: waterbrush, spellbinders labels 11 and 4 dies, Su border punch, 1/2" corrner rounder punch uused without the corner attachment so that I can punch large scallops edge, basic grey buttons, aged copper brad and CTMH bitty brads, linen thread, green/tweed gingham ribbon, sewing machine, glue dots, foam pop hex dots
