The bird is at it again

I have two little announcements to make.

Those who may have purchased one of my little digital doodles from my blog page HERE using Paypal buttons prior to March 17, you might have noticed that you did not receive 300 dpi files. That was an inadvertent error, and I have now corrected ALL my files.  I have emailed everyone last night who purchased images and attached updated versions of the file(s). If you did not receive that email, please check your spam or junk folders first. If it is still not there, please email me from the same email you used to pay with Paypal and the date of your purchase, and I will email you the proper digital files after I verify it is you that made the purchase.

The other thing is that I am working on having a mini digi shop with download links after purchase so you won't have to wait for my email of images. I hope that will be running by April 15.  In the meantime, new images are being put up on my blog page about every couple weeks.  I have put up 4 new things today, one of which is a freebie. I hope yo uwill check them out!  Below I have done a card using one of those images.

I made a 5.25" square card today using the Bird Bath Joy image. I just love this birdie!  He does his own thing and doesn't care what anyone else thinks.

I watercolored the image using Tombow markers and a waterbrush. I used the yellow and orange colors on his body to mix them a little. The main image panel is 4.5" square, so he is pretty large... I wanted him to fill the whole front.

• ACCENTS/TOOLS: waterbrush, sponge, spellbinders labels 11 die and scallop ovals die, sewing machine, orange zest satin, prima flowers, bling gems, glue dots, foam pop dots

New images for the March CDBC3!

Hello!  For my March Monthly Challenge HERE, I created a mini set of digital images that included a frog, a leaf, a lilypad and flower, that can be merged to create scenes, and these were the gift item for every challenge participant. 

But I realized today that perhaps digital merging is not a thing that most people want to fiddle with, so I created 2 individual frog scenes using those same images, and have emailed them to all the participants so far.   Check your spam and junk folders too.

Those who participate between now and the last day, March 19, will receive all the images shown in the original challenge post PLUS these shown here.

I hope this might make it easier for everyone to play with their image, and I have a new special idea planned for future challenges, so I hope you will continue to check back!

A collection of lilies and a challenge

This week, I was asked to host the AIFactory Challenge #27, thanks Mia!

The AIF027 challenge

is to create something that 1. has a clear component on it, and also 2. has somewhat simple accenting so that your focus is on the center image. DP or PP are allowed, as well as all kinds of embellishments, but make sure whatever your main is, is the stand out focal image and the first thiing you see.

Some examples of clear components are clear micro beads, buttons, dew drops/skittles/baubles, clear embossing powder, clear acetate cardstock, just to name a few.

The AIF DT created projects using the new Lily Collection Digital stamp set HERE, and one challenge participant will be selected to receive that digital set!  Here is the Digital set that is the prize:

Calla Lily clear acetaate cardstock card

My clear component on the Calla Lily cardd is the clear acetate cardstock base.  I used the embossing folder on the lower half, and watercolored the flowers with Tombow  markers.  I also used the ultra fine Flower soft on the center stems of the flowers to make them a little fuzzy.

LILY of the VALLEY card

 

My clear component on this card is the clear lacquer used to resemble dew on the flowers and leaves. While this card has layers, I feel it is still simple enough and the focus is the image in the center.

I love doing these circle cards!

EASTER / RUBRUM LILY card

This image is closely resembling the Rubrum lilies as well as the easter lilies, so I think it can be sued for either, depending on your coloring mood.

 

My clear component on this card is the clear round button. Used Tombow markers for coloring again.

MARIPOSA LILY card

My clear component on this is the micro beads panel.  I just love the look that the micro beads over the entire panel gives a pretty image, almost like mosaic or stained glass window. I don't do it very often, but when I do I always love the results.  AND the benefit of using these beads in this way is that it can cover slight mess-ups in your coloring details, and no one would ever notice.  :o)
