RESTING BIRD FREEBIE - It is free with any purchase over at CDS.
Colors on the bird are just made up. If they resemble an actual bird, that would be pure coincidence! I just happen to like the 3 colors together.

LET FREEDOM RING - there is a regular 50 star flag and this colonial flag. I felt that the digital set needed this flag too, because while it is good to reflect on our now United states and what it stands for, it is also equally important to remember and be proud of our beginnings. We wouldn't be where we are today if we hadn't started out as 13 humble little colonies. I personally know a handful of people who would love to see a flag remembering our humble beginnings, so I made this for them.

FIRECRACKER BUGS - there is a worm who is a little astonished at the Magic Snake "worm" firecracker that is forming before his very eyes, and the ants are having fun with their sparklers. Just a different and fun little twist for Independence day images... they also have sentiments that can be used for general occasions. I used the ants and watercolored the image with the exception of the sponging background and clear embossing on the sparkler.
First, I used the Versamarker pen and colored over the sparkler areas and then added the detail clear EP and heated with heat tool.
Once that was done, I colored the yellow blob behind the sentiment first by adding an oval of color of the 985 Tombow marker and using a waterbrush to blend it outward all around the oval.
Next I watercolored the ants, sparkler handle and ground.
I then used the N15 black Tombow and began coloring inbetween the sparkler sparks and blending outward, adding more N15 when I needed darker. Once I colored and blended behind the sparkler, ants, and handle, I used a sponge to sponge black around edges to meet up with the black I had colored.
