I have been trying to do the DP2 challenge for the last 3 weeks! For the "water" theme back in May I had the Boy holding a water hose all colored up and I didn't get a chance to finish the card together. Then, the next week was for "flowers" and I bought the cute Kissy face girl and then never even got a chance to color her--got too busy with other work, then the next week was a challenge on "love" and I thought, "ooo, the boy image will work since he LOVES mud!", but then I didn't stamp at all that week and the challenge passed. Sigh. So, I finally decided that I was going to do challenge 34 no matter what it was, and it was to merge 2 or more of Mo's images. I really don't like the hassle of merging images, but when I saw the "Alli wants in" image on Mo's blog, I knew exactly what I was going to merge with it!
So, here is my card. It is for the DP2 challenge 34. I thought that poor kitty looked like he was being ignored by someone, and the facebook lady looked like she was ignoring everything else but her computer, so it was just perfect!
I think I will be saving this one for my mom... she is not only on her computer ALL the time, she saves just about every stray animal that wanders across her yard looking like they are hungry. These 2 images were MADE to go together just for my mom, I am sure of it! Thanks Mo!
The sentiment is computer generated.
Once the images were merged and printed, I wateroclored using my trusty Tombow markers and a waterbrush. That is my current favorite coloring medium, if you havent' been able to tell.
I knew from the day I saw the Checking FB lady, that her robe HAD to be a blue cloud design. now I didn't take the step by stpe photos of this, and I wish i had, but I can color her again sometime to show you that. But I will try to explain in words, at least.
CLOUD ROBE:
I started by using the 526 Tombow markers and I made bitty dots with the tip in the shape of the clouds on the rob. So, I just made dotted outlines of each of the clouds. Then I took the waterbrush and began touching the dots with the tip oof the waterbrush with the waterflow and then moved the brush tip away from the clouds. Do that all the way around each cloud, until all areas have watered down 526 marker blended out, and all the cloud outlines are whie inside (don't blend inside them).
Then, come back with your 526 Tombow and now add color to the creases and undersides... anywhere where you would see a darker shadow. I quickly used the waterbrush on those areas to blend htem out into the rest of the robe, all the while staying away from the white clouds.
