Yay! I actually got to play this time! It was quite a good thing that I sort of got "commissioned" to create a card using the Country Bridges stamp set, and they wanted it to look fall-ish. Perfect timing as these colors Cassie picked for the CDS WCC 38 were perfect! You need to be a member, and signed in, of PaperCraftPlanet to see the link to the WCC38.
I only had to add a tiny bit of 2 other colors, so the cheating was very minimal!
The colors are sage, apricot, cocoa, and optional rust. I added a tiny bit of bashful blue and sahara sand to make the scenes work better.
Here are the cards I created:
This first one I watercolored the image as well as other parts of it so that i could cut out and pop up to give a 3D look. I added clear lacquer to the water, and flower soft to the trees. I cuttlebug embossed the upper half after stamping the acorn swirly image from the stamp set all over it, and then i sponged cocoa ink over the raised up areas to darken them.

The next card, I decided to make it more rich with the rust colors.
Watercolored the image and did not pop up sections of this one, but i did put clear lacquer on the water and flower soft on the trees and some ground. I mixed the autumn flower soft with a little nut brown, rustic red and shamrock green to get a different look from the first card.
I had to cover up a MAJOR sewing boo-boo with the large button and punchouts. LOL Even broke my sewing machine needle! I am SO glad I had bought a spare several months ago, just in case.
HINT: Sew on your panels BEFORE adding the clear lacquer!!! Just thought I'd give you a warning that sewing machines don't like penetrating through dried clear lacquer, and the presser foot that pushes the paper through doesn't like too pass over it either... it just pulls the dried lacquer off your paper. :o)
