Today we are showing you several of the Christmas releases to be available on October 1 at Clear Dollar Stamps, including some lovely "inside" verses for your holiday cards. These verses could also be used as the focus on a card front too.

Memory glass ornaments. I used 1" square memory glass by Ranger and followed the Split Coast stampers tutorial for Microscope slide ornaments. You can check out that tutorial, or I have created a step-by-step photo guide of what I did for mine.
1. Stamp and color images on vellum paper, if you want a glowing translucent effect. If you prefer to watercolor, use watercolor paper, but your ornament will be opaque and the lights from your tree will not shine through. Cut your image to fit your glass pieces.
I used Brilliance black ink and Su markers.
2. Place image inbetween the glass pieces and set aside.
3. Tie thin cording to form a loop and make sure ends are about half the perimeter of your glass pieces. For the 1" square, I made sure my extensions were 1-7/8" long each.
4. Cut a piece of sticky strip or Scor-tape about the length of the perimeter of your glass piece. For a 1" square, I cut mine at 3-7/8"
5. Peel one side of the backing of the tape off. Attach one end of the Scor-tape to one side of the cord tail as shown, making sure the cord is in the middle of the tape all the way down. I used 1/8" tape as I didn't want overlap onto the front or back of my ornament, but 1/4" does hold your pieces toogether with more security, so if you want more security, use 1/4" tape and fold over the front and back of your glass. My ornaments, using the 1/8" tape, have not fallen apart yet and they have been hanging for about a week prior to this post.
6. Placing your knot from your looped cord at the corner of your 1" square glass piece (this is easier than trying to find the middle of the straight edge), and firmly press the tape down into the edges of the glass pieces, while holding the 2 glass pieces together. This does require a steady and skillful hand.
7. Wrap the tape around the 1" square slowly while putting gnetle but firm pressure on the edges of the tape. Continue until you have applied the entire length, making sure to position the other end of the cord around the glass piece edges prior to pressing the tape over it.
8. Once the scor tape or sticky strip is firmly pressed into the sides and holding your glass pieces together, remove the outer backing. HOld your ornament with your fingers over the glass images, do not hold on the "now" sticky edges. Begin pressing the sticky edges into beads or chunky glitter. It's best to pour your micro beads or chunky glitter into a paper plate or other tidy craft tray, and press into them that way.
9. Once you have the coverage of beads/glitter you like, firmly press the edges, one at a time, onto a hard, flat surface to further press them into the sticky tape.

You may also use the pressure from your fingers on either side of the edges as shown below. Rotate as you go to apply pressure to all edges.

Allow to cure overnight before hanging or handling further.
HINT: if your knot begins to separate from your glass because of the weight or lack of stickiness in your tape, just use a tiny bit of E6000 or other industrial strength CA glue (heavy duty super glue) between your knot and the glass edges.
STORAGE: You will want to store each of your glass ornaments wrapped separately in bubble wrap and placed in a sturdy box. Store away from moisture and heat as these elements will cause the sticky strip to unstick.

The other thing I created with Holiday Nutcrackers is a Holiday Guest signing book.
At our home, we like to have a guest book for visitors to sign when they visit, especially since most of our visitors are from out of town. I found the journal below at Michaels in the "deals under $5" section, and they were only .47 cents each! They are about 5x7 in size. I bought all I could find, which was only 11 of them.
I altered it into the Guestbook below by attaching CS and layered DP sections with my 3M tape adhesive gun. Watercolored the image on watercolorpaper. Title is using an alphabet set, Imperial monogram.
