Good morning! Wow, 2010 is almost here!
January 1 is just around the corner and today starts Clear Dollar Stamps previews of the January releases. I am so excited about the stamps going to be released in 2010... there are some new styles and fresh designs coming, but I must concentrate on just January's this time. <wink>

My first card is just black and kraft. I have an easy little tutorial for how I used the oval dies behind the labels 4 die.
The background is scored every 1/2" and lightly sponged over with soft suede ink.
THERE IS NO SEWING ON THIS CARD. ALL FAUX STITCHING USING 01 MILLENIUM PEN
1. For larger labels 4 dies, cut your CS in your die with the edge just past the center scallop on the crease as shown. Make 2 of these.
2. Use your trimmer if you need to trim each piece perfectly in the crease of the scallops. Put them together as shown and use tape to secure together.
3. This just makes a bit of a longer scallop oval that will fit better behind the labels 4 die as shown below.
4. I used a .01 Millenium Zig pen to trace around the die onto the CS as shown below.
RECIPE:
- CDS STAMPS: Home is where the hearth is
-
CS/PAPERS: kraft, black
-
INK: soft suede, brilliance graphite black
-
ACCENTS/TOOLS: scor-pal, pop dots, sponge, nestabilities labels 4 and
scallop ovals, black satin, gingham ribbon, white micro brad and 01 Zig
Millenium pen
CARD 2
I embossed the background "wall" with moroccan screen folder and the floor with "distressed stripes" folder, and sponged similar color ink over them.

1. To stamp the fire pieces properly, refer to the below diagram. First, stamp the largest flame (on left below) in your lightest color. Next (see middle below) stamp the medium size flame by aligning the little flame marked with an arrow to be inside the 2 flames from the first stamp as shown. Finally, stamp the smallest flame stamp on top of the others by aligning the small flame marked with an arrow (at right below) to be inbetween the first flames as shown.
The flames may also be used individually for a different look.
2. Below is a picture of all the pieces I stamped and cut out to create my home scene. I stamped the mantle and brick side and cut that out as one piece. Then the flame, wood, and grate were stamped and cut out as one piece. For the back of the fireplace, I simply cut a square out of gray CS and sponged the edges with black, this will get put behind the brick/mantle piece before I glue.
RECIPE:
- CDS STAMPS: Home is where the hearth is, On fire for God sentiment
- CS/PAPERS: white, not quite navy, sage, caramel, gray
-
INK: rust, cocoa, chocolate, caramel, sage, not quite navy, sun, pumpkin, ruby, blue bayou
- ACCENTS/TOOLS: oval punch, snips, scor-pal, pop dots, glue dots, sewing
machine, sponge, embossing folders moroccan screen and distressed
stripes
